about

Ayana Evans (Yana) is both a painter and accessories designer. Evans’ educational background includes a BA in Visual Arts from Brown University, an MFA in painting from Temple University, and an AS in Accessory Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). Initially, she kept her fashion pursuits and visual art projects separate. Eventually she merged the two schools of thought to build YANA Handbags, a line of handbags rooted in altruistic endeavors and artistic expression.

The label’s key components include

Eco-friendly fashions

Charitable donations via online sales

Ergonomically correct designs

High-art aesthetics with a sense of humor

YANA handbags are unique works of art, not just fashion reproductions. The bags feature luxury details such as 18 karat plated hardware, eco-friendly tie dye suede linings, and butter soft leathers or premium exotic skins. We use re-purposed leathers to limit our waste contribution and vegetable dyed skins to curb our chemical impact on the environment. YANA strives to create a socially conscious company that donates to various charities. This mission elevates our brand to provide more than just luxury to our clients. We also add a sense of humor to our product lines and titles. Titles such as “Sexy at All Times” are meant to be funny! Ultimately, Evans would hate to be taken “too seriously.”

A portion of online proceeds benefit
